Cycle
One complete up and down movement. With respect to technical analysis, the pattern or amount of time comprising one up and down movement.
This is a weekly chart of IBM. The vertical line intersects a price bottom, which represents the end of one cycle (from early-1996 to mid-1996), and the beginning of another ( from mid-1996 to spring-1997). The stochastics oscillator is plotted above the chart, and could confirm the cycles by forming tops and bottoms when price does.
You can choose up to four indicators at a time, such as stochastics, to display above the chart, by clicking on "Indicators" within RightLine Charts. All drawing functions in RightLine Charts, such as trendlines, are performed by clicking on "Toolbox".
